Address: Carretera Cancun-Chetumal Km. 36.5, Riviera Maya, 77500 Cancún, QROO, Mexico

Layout: The resort is massive and consists of 3 hotels: Sunrise, Nizuc and Grand. We stayed in the Sunrise section. Our group spent most days at the Sunrise pool, however we did check out at least one restaurant in each area. It was about a 5-7 minute walk to the Nizuc water slide and about a 15 minute walk to the Grand resort. There are buses that can also take you lobby to lobby; which we did when venturing to the Grand. This was very convenient and they came about every 10 minutes.

Resort Credits: We received $1500 in resort credits as part of our package. There are some rules and regulations, so I made sure I discussed my options with the credit desk. I suggest that you decide and book as soon as you check in.

Salon: 200 credits on a blow out for the wedding, with $9 tax

Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Course: 3 guys with clubs for a 12pm tee time cost $94 each and used a majority of credits. Bring your own balls, collar shirt and golf shoes to save on expenses. I hit a bucket of balls at the driving range for $20 dollars.

Grand Resort: We did a twilight wristband to go to JC's Steakhouse, which was about $15 or 120 credits each.

Restaurants: Great food is always important, yet many times hard to find at an all- inclusive resort. We were very satisfied with all of our dining experiences. The restaurants open for dinner at 6 pm. Most do not take reservations and are first come, first serve. Arriving at 6pm will allow you to get seated right away, however after you may have a wait time. Here are my top 3 restaurants at Moon Palace:

1. Momo: Asian cuisine inside the Sunrise lobby. The experience and food was so good that our group went twice. If your party wants to sit at the habachi tables you need to get there before they open around 4:45 to try and get your name on the waiting list. Best dishes: Tuna sashimi, dumplings, sushi rolls. (Pictures 1, 2 & 3) 2. Brazilian Steakhouse located in Nizuc lobby: This was the most fun we had at a dinner as the waiters provided a great experience! Our favorite meats were the Brazilian steak, the sausage and the flank steak. At the end of the meal, ask your waiter to make you the Flaming Coffee! (Pictures 4, 5 & 6)

3. JC Steakhouse located in the Grand: Once you check in and get your hotel credits, reserve a spot at this restaurant. This American steak house served USDA choice steaks cooked perfectly. The appetizers were amazing and JC's had exquisite flare served in a rustic, casual atmosphere. (3 pictures below)

Sunrise Pool: The activity staff were posted up at the pool daily with music and games. They were very entertaining, friendly, and a lot of fun throughout the day. We didn't have to get to the pool too early as we always found a group of chairs available. Servers were constantly available to serve drinks and there was a great swim up bar to grab your own cocktails. The Wave Runner had a steady line daily, but the longest we had to wait was about 20 minutes after signing the waiver.

Other Things To Do:

Bicycles: Available for rental between Nizuc and Sunrise lobbies. Minigolf

Beach Walk

Waterslides

Kids Play Area

Water Sports: use credits

Destination Wedding at the Moon Palace Cancun

Once a couple decides to tie the knot in paradise, I believe it becomes stressful because you have to plan from a distance. Location, catering, drinks, music, flowers, cake; all stressful attributes when planning your destination wedding. However, Moon Palace provided Dana and Matt, the bride and groom, with their own wedding coordinator, which gave them full confidence in their choice to wed at Moon Palace.

From an outsider looking in, the Moon Palace didn't skip a beat. The wedding staff was attentive throughout the whole ceremony and reception. They seemed to have made the planning process less stressful as Dana and Matt. In fact, the happy couple were poolside enjoying their friends and family a few short hours prior to saying, "I do."

The wedding was in a large gazebo that held the 55- 60 guests comfortably. There was no need for many decorations because the palm tree backdrop was breathtaking. After the 20 minute ceremony the guests were bused to the reception area, while the wedding party took pictures. The set up was impressive and held true to the beach theme. Dinner was served buffet style and it was delicious. Everyone hit the dance floor when the music started and did not get off until the reception was over. Moon Palace did an exceptional job and everyone left with amazing memories.

The nicest thing when arriving at an all inclusive is that everything is taken care of. Once we arrived at Moon Palace Cancun we were shown VIP service by the staff and enjoyed great food and drinks for the 7 days we were there. With thousands of rooms at The Moon Palace I could not get over the friendly wait staff and attention to detail. From the standalone spa and golf center; Sunrise's Flowrider machine, to the charming boutique-vibe and gorgrous bathrooms in the Moon Grand, to the fabulous waterslides by Nizuc, this resort truly is all-inclusive!

If you are looking to get off the resort and head downtown, I recommend using After Dark Entertainment! Our group of 20 went downtown, and enjoyed top shelf all you can drink in a VIP area at Mandella's. The customer service is very responsive and the price point is great!

Lastly, one of the most touristy things you can do in Cancun is to get a picture with the colorful Cancun sign. Located on Playa Delfines, which is easily accessible by bus, the sign is one of the local landmarks.

Once on Delfines, you can enjoy the local white sand beach, which remains one of the least developed beaches in the area.
