A Magical Girls Trip to NYC During the Holidays

New York City, the city that never sleeps! Well, that was the case for our 1 night, 2 day girls trip for our friends 40th birthday! What better time to visit than during the enchanting Christmas season? Imagine strolling through snow-covered streets adorned with twinkling lights, experiencing the festive spirit, and creating unforgettable memories with your closest friends. In this blog post, I will detail our girls' trip to NYC, celebrating our friend Kara's 40th birthday during the most wonderful time of the year.

1. Planning the Perfect Itinerary:

Before embarking on your adventure, it's essential to plan a well-thought-out itinerary. Start by deciding how many days you'll be spending in the city and what activities and attractions you want to include. Consider visiting iconic landmarks such as Times Square, Central Park, and of course the Christmas Tree at Rockefeller Center which is more magical with ice skaters during the holiday season. Don't forget to explore the world-famous Fifth Avenue and its extravagant window displays!

2. Embracing the Festive Spirit:

The holiday season in NYC is a truly magical experience. Begin your trip by taking a leisurely stroll through Bryant Park winter village. We stopped for some light shopping and a cocktail at the Bryant Park Grill. We also grabbed a drink in the village and watched the ice skaters and shoppers stroll by.

3. Shopping Extravaganza:

No trip to NYC is complete without indulging in some retail therapy. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise, with famous department stores like Nordstrom, Saks Fifth Avenue and Macys offering extravagant window displays and exclusive shopping experiences. Following our shopping spree we stopped by Rockefeller!

4. Culinary Delights:

NYC is renowned for its diverse culinary scene. Treat yourselves to unforgettable dining experiences at trendy restaurants, cozy cafes, and charming brunch spots! Don't forget to make a reservation for dinner! We went to some great restaurants during our short time in NYC. My friend Maura used to live in the city and she is definitely a bonafide foodie, so we followed her lead to these spots!

First Brunch: The Smith

Dinner: Bar Pasquale

This was a perfect spot for ladies night. The cocktails were delicious, the vibe was great and the food was wonderful. Must order the prosciutto & orecchiette which was Italian pork sausage and collard greens, our whole table loved both!

Second Brunch: Jacks Wife Freda

Hotel: Fairfield Inn & Suites Manhattan/ Central Park. This was a great location in the city. The staff was incredibly friendly & the rooms were nice!

A girls' trip to NYC during Christmas is an extraordinary way to celebrate a 40th birthday. From the breathtaking holiday decorations to the festive activities and delicious culinary experiences, the city offers an unforgettable experience for friends seeking to create cherished memories. So gather your closest friends, pack your winter essentials, and embark on a magical journey to the Big Apple for a celebration you'll never forget!
